Ikea add

We thought this was funny and sad since Ikea is a Swedish company and Sweden has been a member of the U.N. since November 19, 1946. The U.N. has outlawed particle board because it is a known carcinogen so it seems a little ironic that Ikea would think of it as the future of design.

is fiberboard the same as pressboard or particleboard? and does plywood fit into that group?

is skateboard wood an offending party as well?

I believe that Fiberboard and pressboard are both particleboards, but I am not certain. Fiber board may just mean that it has smaller particles that are glued together. plywood is different, it is thin layers of wood glued on top of one another with the grains corssing inorder to give the wood more streangth. I do not know wether the glue that is used in ply wood has Formaldehyde in it or not.
If the glue in plywood does not have formaldehyde then skater boarding decks would not be an offending party, because most skateboards are made of maple plywood.
If anyone sees something I have said incorrectly please correct me.

After further research I discovered that plywood does contain formaldehyde, so I guess skateboards are an offender.
Lame!!!!
As far as carpet goes, it looks like carpet no longer contains formaldehyde and most homes do not contain it in there insulation. older homes may have it in there insulation but most likely do not omit the gas any more.
